Download a Microsoft Teams Transcript

To create a meeting andin TaskIQ, you first need to download the transcript. If you’re using Microsoft Teams to generate the transcript, here’s how to do it. Don’t worry, it’s simple and straightforward.
First you’ll need a to get started.
You need a Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Business Premium, or any Enterprise plan (E1, E3, or E5). If you are using the free version of Teams or Microsoft 365 Business Basic, you won’t see this option.

Step 1: Start Recording and Transcription

  • Join or start your meeting in Microsoft Teams.
  • Click the More actions button (three dots in the top menu).
  • Select Record and Transcribe → Start Transcription.

Step 2: Run Your Meeting

  • Teams will begin writing down what people say.
  • Everyone in the meeting will see a note that transcription has started. The words will appear live in the side panel as people talk.

Step 3: Stop the Transcript

  • When the meeting is done, click More actions again.
  • Select Stop Transcription.

Step 4: Save and Share the Transcript

  • After the meeting ends, the transcript is saved automatically in the meeting chat and in the meeting calendar event.
  • You can download the transcript as a .docx or .vtt file.
  • You can also share it directly with your team members from the chat.
